As part of its ‘Remembrance’ project, Saint-Laurent School is pleased to invite you to a lecture by historian Jean-Michel Bodelet.
After being selected by the Province of Luxembourg's ‘Remembrance-Commemoration’ project, the teachers have chosen to work together on a common theme for this school year: the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, with a particular focus on the village of Grand-Halleux.
All the classes, from nursery to P6, will be working on this theme, tackling a range of skills to culminate on 06 June. Save the date in your diary now! We're keeping the suspense a little longer... This conference marks the start of our project. Mr Bodelet will talk about the situation in the region between the first liberation and the start of the offensive, with particular reference to certain episodes of the war.
Free admission - doors open at 6.45pm - lecture at 7.30pm

On the weekend of 21-22, the tasting room will be open to local designers and craftspeople who will be showcasing their finest creations in the run-up to the festive season.
The shop will be open from 10am to 7pm with our usual chocolates and lots of festive gifts and packaging.
Outside, there'll be a Christmas atmosphere, with a cosy bar and sweet and savoury snacks.

On Saturday 21 December, the Vielsalm Tourist Office is organising its torch-lit walk. This year, it will be preceded by an intimate poetic-clown storytelling show for families aged 7 and over. Running time: 45 minutes
Practical info: show in French at 7pm in the Salle des Fêtes in the Gare district and free departure for the torchlight walk between 7pm (if you don't want to see the show) and 8.30pm.
