Around the offensive in Trois-Ponts country” exhibition
A look back at a painful end to the war for this region.
Adolf Hitler's hubris and madness seemed beyond measure! The winter of 44-45 was a painful experience for our localities and the opposing combatants.
While freedom returned to our regions in September, from December 16 onwards, our cold, wet valleys, muddy roads, villages and homes became the battleground of 2 fierce armies.
750,000 men and 2,100 tanks clashed; many soldiers and civilians shed tears, lost loved ones and lost their lives.
At the end of January, the Nazis were driven back! Our regions woke up shocked, mourning and stricken for years to come.
Objects, eyewitness accounts, stories, documents and analyses will tell the story of the battles and events that left their mark on the Trois-Ponts region.
Opening hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays (except Mondays). Open Sat & Sun from 2pm to 5pm.
